BRINE, BREW, AND BARREL FESTIVAL 2024

The Rogue Valley is a wonderland for creative cooking concepts and ingredients. While the traditional holiday feasts and cookie baking marathons behind us, consider thinking outside the culinary box and prepping your pantry with some perfectly pickled products.

The Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites will host the 3rd Annual Brine, Brew & Barrel Fermentation Festival January 12-14. This multi-cultural culinary tradition of fermented products including pickles, krauts, kombucha, beer, wine, cider, mead, chocolate, cheese, coffee, sourdough, and everything in between.

Local cookbook authors Kirsten and Christopher Shockey are considered Pickling Pros! (well Feisty Fermentors actually). Fermenting is an ancient form of pickling, where instead of using vinegar, you get the naturally occurring microbes from the veggies to do the work for you. Get inspiration and step by step instructions on their Ferment Works website for recipes like this Fermented Apple Butter

Bloody Mary bliss with a kick of heat! Get ready for brilliant flavors of everything tangy, spicy, citrus, or mild. Enjoy a delicious menu you can pair with craft fermented hot sauces, and a Bloody Mary Bar showcasing bold drinks.
