This Festival brings together artisans, foodies, beekeepers, honey makers, scientists, musicians and agriculturalists to celebrate the harvest and the fall equinox at Edenvale Winery in the rolling hills of Medford, Oregon. At it's heart, the Oregon Honey & Mead Festival is a celebration of agriculture, toasting the work of all farmers and agricultural pollinators. To make delicious honey, the bees rely upon being able to find food in the form of flowers and water, unspoiled by toxins and chemicals so there is no better place for such a celebration than Jackson County, Oregon which became GMO free in 2014. Enjoy tastings, talks, artwork, bluegrass and rock . Mead, the drink of the ancient Vikings is the product of fermented honey. The invited mead and honey producers bring their talents to the table along with principles of food science and history. The Festival is a fundraiser for Cascade Girl Organization's beekeeping programs for veterans and science presentations for kids.
