Rogue Elk Park covers a total of 33 beautiful acres including three-quarters of a mile of access to the upper Rogue River. This special park provides numerous activities such as camping, fishing, rafting, swimming and an excellent opportunity to escape for a day trip, picnic or family event. Rogue Elk is the county's most popular camping spot along the upper Rogue River with prime riverfront campsites, RV sites with water/electric hookups, restroom/showers, picnic tables, barbecues and a playground.

Rogue Rafting Company offers professionally guided whitewater rafting and fishing trips on Oregon's Rogue River. The Rogue River is among the most renowned rivers in the West, known for its exceptional whitewater and fishing. The Rogue River flows 155 miles from the Cascade Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The term Rogue River Gorge is often applied to long stretches of the Wild and Scenic River, but this short stretch where the river courses through a narrow chasm carved no wider than 10 feet in places, is the proper feature to apply the name to. This waterfall occurs at the head of the gorge. The falls begin where the river splits around an island composed of basalt talus. The visible channel of the river spreads across the smooth basalt bedrock and veils about 5 vertical feet into a trough in a very scenic display. Shortly downstream the two channels converge and cascade another 25 feet into the narrowest and deepest portion of the gorge. The waters of the river swirl calmly for several hundred feet then resumes its boisterous journey towards the ocean after exiting the slot no more than 500 feet downstream from the entrance. The Rogue River Gorge is a very scenic location, one that is worth spending some time at. The lower section of the gorge can only be seen from the paved path but the smaller falls at the top of the formation can be approached closely. Unless the weather cooperates, the lack of shade in the area will be problematic more often than not. Spray shouldn't be a problem with the falls.

Located in southwestern Oregon and extending into California, the Forest ranges from the crest of the Cascades Mountains, west into the Siskiyou Mountains, nearly to the Pacific Ocean. The Forest covers almost 1.8 million acres, including portions of the Applegate and Illinois River drainages that extend into northern California. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest embraces a treasure of botanical diversity, and is home to incredible wild and scenic rivers, isolated wilderness, outstanding fisheries and wildlife resources, and breathtaking landscapes of mountains, meadows, streams, and lakes.

Rogue Rowing is a non-profit organization, open to anyone 10 and older, offering recreational and competitive rowing to Southern Oregon.

At Sanctuary One, people of all ages have the opportunity to volunteer on a real working farm and experience nature’s healing power firsthand. We offer educational tours that open people’s hearts and minds. We invite groups from schools and youth-serving nonprofit organizations to visit the farm for fresh air, exercise and hands-on service-learning. We help teens who are in legal trouble learn how to make better choices. We mentor interns who dream of becoming the next generation of care farmers. We promote the ethics of mindful, sustainable living. And we provide a safe, loving home to rescued farm animals and pets. It’s all part of a practice called care farming. Care farms like Sanctuary One demonstrate how farming for health can be an affordable, natural and effective means of healing people. They serve as models for treating animals humanely and honoring their intrinsic physical and spiritual value. And they illustrate how the environment that sustains us all can be steadily improved through organic and permaculture-inspired farming practices. At Sanctuary One, we envision a future where care farms are as commonplace in the United States as they are in Europe. For example, in the Netherlands there are more than 1,000 established care farms. Great Britain has hundreds, and there are dozens more in other European countries. We hope to enliven and motivate our visitors at Sanctuary One and, ultimately, inspire more Americans to start up care farms in their communities.

Our 2-hour Segway tour is perfect for both those new to Jacksonville and city veterans. The two hour "Glide Through History" tour takes you on an adventure through Nunan Square where you will see gorgeous Victorian-style homes, past the historic courthouse and jail, up the hill to Britt Gardens and through the historic Jacksonville Cemetery, where you can catch a spectacular view of the Rogue Valley.
